An assemblage of spoken word and video intervention that explores the theme of loss in a variety of instances, as experienced in our personal histories. From the disinvestment and alienation to which politics pushes us, isolation, the hora of the world, the anticipation of loss, separation and mourning, the return in time, to purification and restart, we build haunted by the last song of the kauaii oo bird, a ceremonial of finitude.

Duration: approx. 15 minutes

Description: In the midst of postponement, openness and vulnerability still seem valid. Courage and sentimentality. I offer you 15 minutes of emotional and (I hope) playful availability. My presence is filtered by physical distance. The space between us is freedom.

Mirror Box draws threads between a series of distinct personal histories. The same images take on new meanings when the screen and the narrator’s gaze meet. The screen becomes the mirror of a story that you discover from new angles. Can such a process have a therapeutic effect? Can it heal?

This is a museum of gesture awareness that does not carry the requirement of intention and guidance. Which do not require the attention of the doer, nor of others. A throwback to an art-time. To not forget its density. Not to forget its indifference.

Angel shot proposes a performance manifesto to support victims of domestic abuse, as the number of cases of abused women in Romania has increased significantly with the onset of the pandemic. Through a discourse that draws a parallel between the patriarchal vision and the harsh realities around the world, Angel Shot gives a voice to those who do not have the power to speak.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
<> is a workshop at the intersection of theatre and cinema. Together, participants followed the portrayal of personal stories from the pandemic, their own stories or those of people they knew. Each team put together a short-medium hybrid work that contributes to the final form of the HEALING PORTRAITS project.

The event is part of << AGAINST CYNISM>>, the 6th edition of Focus Atelier, a project of the Reciproca Association. Beyond the cynical, handy and passive criticism, we ask what gives us dignity, hope and freedom?
