Inside, Outside

nonverbal theater performance — 8.10.2021 16:00

Outside, Inside is a contemporary fairy tale that invites the viewer into an immersive experience, where the boundary between the real and the fantastic blurs. Our characters enter an inner journey during which they encounter personal archetypes, transposed into fantastic characters.

<<I conceived the show starting from personal stories that I developed further. It is about a girl caught in a context of exhaustion, depression, loneliness. Thanks to a little “help” from a fantastic character, her personal guide, she enters the universe inside… and practically goes through an inner process of self-discovery and transformation.>> Andreea Bolovan.

The main sources of inspiration for the script are the writings of Carl Jung but also fairy tale methodologies, adapted into a present-day story. At the same time the show is nonverbal and combines different techniques of animation theatre such as shadow theatre, puppet characters, hand puppets (bibabo), mascot, masks.
