Abandonment is a tool to make spaces invisible, to turn places into plots that can be sold. Nowhere is this more obvious than in public parks or communal areas, whose very essence comes from the need to experience nature and communities in cities.
Starting from research centered around the Railway Workers’ Park in Cluj-Napoca, Neja TomΕ‘ič, together with the artistic collective Nonument Group, created the π‚π’π«πœπ₯𝐞. This immersive documentary installation tells the story of an urban space on the verge of disappearance, swallowed by today’s vision of the city.
Using various recording and research methods, Neja TomΕ‘ič explored its history and current state, mainly the remnants of the past that are layered in the earth – material relics, and are also stored in the imagination and memories of people and other living beings.

The π‚π’π«πœπ₯𝐞 was created as part of the Stronger Peripheries: A Southern Coalition project, based on the themes of work and happiness, during the artistic residencies in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and Mondaino, Italy.
