My Cluj - Photo Exhibit

exihibition — 28.6.2023 15:00

Thanks to funding from Efectiv Civic, FDSC and the Romanian American Foundation, we have had a very busy month here in Cluj-Napoca with our 20 youths participating in the Speak Through project!

They have been active in participating in workshops on culture, story-telling, dialogue, media literacy and so much more! Where they have shown great engagement in discussion and a thirst to immerse themselves in our topics. Through the workshops and our shared experiences in Escape Rooms and climbing through tree tops in the pouring rain, we have brought together a diverse group of young people from Ukraine, Romania and Moldova in an intercultural dialogue.

This beautiful journey will culminate in a modest exhibition of the photos the youths have taken of their Cluj and their community, together with other samples of the work they have done together this last month. As the perfect location for the exhibition we are collaborating with Tranzit House.

Opened in 1997, Tranzit House echoes our message of intercultural dialogue, being the first example in Romania where the historical and symbolic value of a former synagogue is brought back to public attention through the creation of an independent center for arts and thought. Tranzit House is one of the local pioneers of the independent cultural scene, one of the longest-running cultural centers in Romania - an open space, a meeting place, a transgenerational collaborative exercise, and a promoter of multilingualism and conviviality.

Therefore, we the Speak Through team and all the lovely Speak Through youths invite you; citizens and engaged members of Cluj’s civil society, to come and take a look at their work, join us for a conversation about dialogue and cultural exchanges or perhaps just enjoy the ambient atmosphere at Tranzit House.

The Vernissage will be on Tuesday, June the 28th from 18.00-21:00, but the exhibition will stay open for visitors on June the 29th as well, should you be unable to attend our opening.

The Speak Through project is implemented by PATRIR and financed through the Efectiv Civic Programme, developed pe FDSC – Civil Society Development Foundation in partnership with RAF – Romanian American Foundation.
