The Zurboló Dance Ensemble was founded in October 1993 by the first generation of graduates of the Bogáncs Folk Dance Ensemble of Cluj, under the direction of Csongor Könczei, who has been assisted by Júlia Vincze since 2015. The ensemble is mainly engaged in Hungarian, Romanian and Romani folk dances of Inner Transylvania (Kalotaszeg, Mezőség, Aranyosszéki, Maros-Küküllő and Upper Maros). The ensemble’s image is also defined by their dance performances. In the last three decades they have presented fifteen thematic dance performances among their forty-eight choreographies. Since 1994, it has hosted the biannual Cluj Youth Folk Dance Meeting, one of the meetings of Hungarian folk dance ensembles in Cluj County. In the same year they started organizing the Bogáncs and Zurboló training camps. Between 2000 and 2005, the Zurboló Dance House was organized in the Tranzit House and over the years included 148 dance houses for children and 123 dance houses for adults.

In October 2023, Tranzit House will host the 30th anniversary of the Zurboló Ensemble!
