The chances of Roma emancipation in Szeklerland

debate, discussion — 11.5.2024 13:30

Szeklerland is often described as a Hungarian enclave, although about 10% of the population is Roma. What kind of experiences do young Roma have of being a double minority? What difficulties do they face and what are their plans, expectations at individual, institutional and community level? What are the most important steps on the road to Roma empowerment and what could be the basic principles of cooperation?

Borbély András, a contributor to új szem magazine, will discuss with Barabás Blanka, Bodi Inesz, Gergely Zoltán, Ioni Renáta and Isztojka Máté.

The co-organiser of the event is Tranzit House.
