Key Goals:
The ROMA-RISE project aims to empower young Roma individuals and foster their active participation in society by strengthening their identity, enhancing skills, and building grassroots capacity. The project seeks to support Roma youth to become active change-makers by addressing societal challenges such as marginalisation, segregation, and discrimination. Key objectives include:

  1. Empowering young Roma activists (Roma Rise Ambassadors) to foster inclusion and strengthen their cultural identity.
  2. Establishing a transnational network of grassroots organisations and initiatives to support Roma inclusion and cultural exchange.

Work Packages (WPs):

  1. Project Management (WP1): Ensuring smooth coordination and implementation of project activities.
  2. Capacity Building of Young Roma Activists (WP2): Developing training modules and digital resources to equip 80 young Roma activists with leadership and advocacy skills.
  3. Art and Cultural Diversity (WP3): Strengthening self-esteem and community belonging through creative workshops and artistic expression, culminating in cultural events.
  4. Networking and Awareness Raising (WP4): Building alliances and fostering dialogue to combat stereotypes and promote Roma youth participation at local and international levels.

Key Activities:

  • Creation of five local groups of young Roma activists across Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, and Romania.
  • Local and international training sessions to develop social, civic, and cultural competences.
  • Artistic workshops to promote Roma culture and enhance self-representation.
  • Networking events and advocacy campaigns to challenge stereotypes and foster social inclusion.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Empowerment of 80 Roma activists, with 50 taking active leadership roles in their communities.
  • Enhanced cultural exchange through workshops and events celebrating Roma identity.
  • Strengthened transnational network supporting Roma inclusion and policy advocacy.
  • Broader societal impact through awareness campaigns and the promotion of Roma heritage.
