December 17 – 15 years since the evictions on Coastei Street | Roma Rise

On December 17, 2010, over 70 families were forcibly evicted by the Cluj-Napoca City Hall from Coastei Street and relocated to Pata Rât, near the city’s landfill.On December 17, 2025, we commemorate 15 years since this event.

We invite you on Wednesday, December 17, at 5:00 p.m., to Casa Tranzit, to remember this event.
We will watch a series of video reports about the life of the communities on Coastei Street before the eviction (in 1999) and immediately after the forced evictions. We will also talk to some of the authors of these materials, as well as to people who experienced the eviction.

The event is part of the Roma Rise project.
