The workshop offers a practical introduction to the management and production of contemporary dance projects, addressing the main stages and challenges of project development, from concept to implementation and evaluation of results. We will discuss the production of a dance performance, team structuring and coordination, as well as essential elements of financial management. The workshop will consist of theoretical presentations combined with practical exercises and case studies.
Our goal is for the workshop to create a setting where participants will have the opportunity to develop a concrete understanding of how ideas can be transformed into sustainable and well-structured projects. It will also offer an in-depth look at the national cultural context, with an emphasis on the contemporary dance scene, providing participants with practical tools and methods they can apply in the development of future cultural projects.
Andreea Andrei is a theater scholar, cultural manager, and performing arts curator with over 10 years of experience in the cultural sector. She is particularly interested in the relationship between art and society, critical artistic practices, and the ways in which the performing arts can generate community spaces and create contexts for encounter, reflection, and collective action. Since 2018, she has been working as an artistic consultant at the National Dance Center in Bucharest, where she coordinates projects dedicated to contemporary dance: seasons, productions and co-productions, artist residencies, and a contemporary dance festival. Previously, she worked at the German State Theater in Timiศoara, first in communications and public relations, then as an artistic consultant, during which time she also curated and coordinated three editions of the Eurothalia European Theater Festival. At the same time, she has been involved in independent theater, education, and cultural intervention projects and has served as an evaluator for various funding calls in the cultural sector.
Laura Trocan is a producer in the performing arts, with 10 years of experience in coordinating and producing cultural projects in both the public and independent sectors. Since 2019, she has been working with artistic collectives in the performing arts, and since 2021, she has also been active in film production. She believes in collaborative work processes and practices based on solidarity, which is why she joined the European network of performing arts producers, PAMPA, in 2021.

The workshop adopts the concept of โpermeability,โ seeking to make accessible the various layers of Tranzitโs intertwining program lines. We will attempt to demonstrate that the intertwining and coexistence of various artistic fields, as well as their interplay with philosophy, theory, and the social sciences, constitute in themselves a project that, though complex, follows its own logic and style. We will then focus on studying the Tranzit Foundationโs dance programs and how, since 1997, they have been related to cultural anthropology, philosophy, ethnography, and other complementary fields. At the same time, during the workshop, we will guide participants through the materials in the Tranzit Archive, which, in the field of dance alone, contains dozens of hours of recordingsโsymposia, performances, discussionsโas well as numerous printed documentsโscholarly articles, press kits, programs, and posters.
The selection process is conducted on a rolling basis. This means that applications will be reviewed as they are received, and confirmations will be sent out throughout the registration period. Those who apply toward the end of this period will receive confirmation no later than October 3.
